Job Summary

The Manager of Safety and Training for the Baggage Handling System is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs and safety protocols for baggage handling systems within an airport. This role will initiate, build, and facilitate training programs ensuring all personnel are adequately trained and in compliance with airline and regulatory training programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training Program Development: Create and deliver comprehensive training programs for baggage handling staff, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest industry practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Safety Protocols and Procedures: Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures for baggage handling operations, conducting regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents or incidents related to baggage handling and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and customer standards related to baggage handling and safety.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Prepare and submit regular reports on training activities, safety audits, and incident investigations, maintaining accurate records of all training and safety activities.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Certifications: OSHA 10 or 30 Certified Required.
  • Experience: 18 years of age or older, eligible to work in the United States, with experience in creating training materials and manuals, and designing and delivering comprehensive training programs.
  • Skills: Proficient in MS Office Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with excellent communication and training facilitation skills.
Working Conditions

The Manager of Safety and Training will work in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.

The pay rate listed on this post is what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position. However, individual compensation may vary based on factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, education, and experience.
