Job Title: Airport Security Officer 3rd Shift

ACTS-Aviation Security Inc is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Airport Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our airport facilities and passengers.

Job Summary:

The Airport Security Officer will be responsible for:

  • Controlling access to restricted areas of the airport
  • Screening and logging persons and/or vehicles accessing restricted areas
  • Conducting vehicle inspections at perimeter access points to the airport's secured areas
  • Conducting screening of employees, vendors, visitors, and belongings utilizing x-ray machines, hand wands, and/or magnetometers
  • Providing escorts and security for construction of runways, taxiways, and terminals/concourses
  • Responding to incidents and emergencies
  • Providing passenger assistance
Responsibilities:

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Airport Security Officer will also be responsible for:

  • Preparing Incident/Occurrence Reports for any incident or event that directly involves customer complaints/concerns, safety/security, or operational issues/events
  • Reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing
  • Handling security issues or emergency situations appropriately
  • Fully embracing security/safety training programs to enhance their ability to advance in their careers
  • Participating in industry-specific security/safety training programs to offer our clients the best-trained officers at their airports
  • Meeting and continuing to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Aviation Security Officers
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • At least two (2) years of verifiable previous contract security, military, or law enforcement experience
  • Be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States
  • Pass a Security Threat Assessment as administered by the Transportation Security Administration
  • Pass a Criminal History Record Check as required by the Transportation Security Administration
  • Meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county, and municipal licensing and permit requirements for Aviation Security Officers
Skills and Abilities:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing for the purpose of public interaction and report writing
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance to ensure avoidance of unpredictable, frequent, and/or ongoing tardiness
  • Ability to provide quality customer service
  • Ability to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively at client sites
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position, thus must be physically capable of standing or walking an entire shift, able to lift a 25lb fire extinguisher

Schedule:

The Airport Security Officer will work a 12-hour shift, with opportunities for 2nd and 3rd shifts, as well as holidays and weekends.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Experience:

At least two (2) years of verifiable previous contract security, military, or law enforcement experience is required.

License/Certification:

A valid driver's license and/or Guard Card is preferred.
