Senior Manager of Asset and Liability Management

Hilltop Holdings is seeking a Senior Manager of Asset Liability Management to lead the creation of programs and models that assess the bank's asset/liability strategies. This role involves monitoring and reporting on interest rate and liquidity risks while aiding in the formulation and implementation of strategies aimed at mitigating these risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the modeling, analysis, and reporting of the organization's interest rate risk profile, including Net Interest Income (NII) and Economic Value of Equity (EVE) assessments, back-testing, and sensitivity/stress testing.
  • Take charge of the continuous development, maintenance, and enhancement of a robust modeling framework to evaluate, analyze, and oversee interest rate risk.
  • Generate high-quality asset liability reports for senior management.
  • Analyze extensive datasets to uncover and interpret business trends.
  • Assist management with scenario analysis, NII and Net Interest Margin (NIM) forecasting, and evaluation of key performance drivers.
  • Deliver reports and analyses to executive management, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop documentation and procedures for the functional area to comply with regulatory and compliance standards, ensuring all departmental activities adhere to relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage, maintain, and revise asset liability-related policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate in recruitment and retention efforts; manage schedules, provide coaching, conduct performance evaluations, enforce discipline, and train staff on service expectations, job performance standards, policies, procedures, regulations, and systems.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in asset/liability management, interest rate risk management, or a related field within the financial services sector.
  • Proficiency with Bancware or similar asset/liability management software is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across various business lines.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, including those from the OCC, FDIC, Basel III, and the Federal Reserve.
  • Ability to adapt swiftly to a changing business and regulatory landscape, with the flexibility to prioritize shifting demands.
  • Strong analytical skills to compute, analyze, and compare data.
  • Capability to assist management with complex projects with high accuracy and minimal oversight.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
