The City of New York is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Health Advisor I to join the Bureau of Hepatitis, HIV, and STI. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting case investigations, data analysis, and providing support to the Quality Assurance Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct case investigations and data analysis to identify trends and patterns in HIV transmission
- Provide support to the Quality Assurance Coordinator in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data
- Assist in visiting private physicians, laboratories, and hospitals to gather information and conduct interviews
- Enter data and update information on patient records and electronic databases
- Assign cases based on calls or forms received from providers and after appropriate searches
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twelve semester credits in health education, or in health, social or biological sciences
- Or a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and six months of full-time satisfactory experience in a health promotion or disease intervention/prevention program
- Or a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and four years of full-time satisfactory experience as described above
