Job Summary

Altru Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Obstetrics Technician to join our team. As an Obstetrics Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the admission process by collecting demographic registration information and vital signs.
  • Perform personal cares and comforts for patients.
  • Perform procedures according to physician order and nursing delegation, including blood specimen collection and non-blood specimen collection.
  • Schedule tests, therapies, and procedures according to standard operating procedure.
  • Set up, maintain, operate, and clean equipment per established guidelines.
  • Transport and/or transfer patients within or outside of the facility per delegation, physician, or patient preference.
  • Assist with the discharge process in the newborn nursery, ensuring all necessary steps are taken for discharge.
  • Identify high-risk situations and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
Requirements
  • Unlicensed Assistive Person - Technician (UAP/T) certification from the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Working Conditions
  • Indoor work environment.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
Driving Requirements
  • Infrequent driving required.
