The Teller engages directly with clients in a courteous and professional manner. This role encompasses essential administrative, technical, and professional tasks within the financial institution. Responsibilities include suggesting products and services to enhance the banking experience for customers and businesses. This position is under the supervision of the Frontline Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide exceptional customer service in line with the bank's established standards
  • Advise clients on products and services tailored to their specific needs
  • Process transactions including cashing checks, handling deposits, and other financial activities
  • Ensure the cash drawer is balanced accurately
  • Assist with mail and night drop transactions
  • Address teller-related inquiries received via phone
  • Support balancing tasks, vault management, cash ordering, and training new tellers as necessary
  • Represent the bank positively within the community
  • Commit to and participate in the bank's growth initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with teller operations and an understanding of the bank's policies and procedures
  • EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A minimum of 1 year in banking or customer service is preferred
  • SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication, self-motivated, organized, analytical, and capable of multitasking

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • VERBAL COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate effectively
  • HEARING: Ability to hear and understand conversations in an office setting
  • REPETITIVE MOTION: Frequent typing and use of a mouse
  • DEXTERITY: Regular use of hands for typing and other tasks
  • VISION: Close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision are necessary
  • STRENGTH: Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Professional office setting with climate control and adequate lighting. Regular attendance on Saturdays is required.

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • REASONING: Ability to handle various variables with limited standardization
  • MATH: Strong numerical skills are essential
  • LANGUAGE: Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting documents; clear communication is necessary
