Heritage Bank is pleased to present an opportunity within our organization.

The Tanasbourne Branch is in search of a Relationship Banking Assistant to provide exceptional customer service to both new and existing clients while collaborating with commercial banking teams. This role involves delivering in-office customer support, including transaction processing and account maintenance, in strict adherence to all regulatory standards. The successful candidate will actively promote products, services, and solutions that benefit our customers, in line with Heritage Bank's Service Standards.

This is a Full-Time position with a typical schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:45 am to 5:15 pm. Flexibility is required to accommodate staffing needs for training or employee absences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute routine payment and receipt functions while balancing daily operations according to established Standard Operating Procedures and assigned Authority Limits. Identify and escalate any potential fraudulent activities promptly.
  • Conduct necessary "Know Your Customer" due diligence when processing transactions and addressing customer inquiries.
  • Assist commercial partners with sales and relationship enhancement initiatives. Provide operational support, track client relationships, process documentation, and compile information as needed.
  • Facilitate the opening of new accounts and ensure compliance with all account opening regulations and verification procedures.
  • Support branch operations by organizing workflows, balancing daily transactions, conducting audits, and completing assignments punctually.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all bank products and services, as well as relevant banking regulations.
  • Engage in marketing and sales initiatives with the commercial team, participating in community events to enhance the Bank's reputation and growth.
  • Contribute to team success through individual goal achievement and timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal banking laws and regulations.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and standards relevant to assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in commercial and/or retail banking, including cash handling, account opening, relationship management, and sales skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers, addressing their needs and concerns effectively.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with management, business partners, customers, and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information clearly across various platforms.
  • Demonstrated sales and business development capabilities, with a knack for identifying customer needs and promoting the Bank's offerings.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply relevant principles, procedures, compliance requirements, and policies.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Integrity in handling sensitive information is essential.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiar with banking core processing systems.
  • This position may require registration under the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) as per the SAFE Act of 2008.

Working Environment:

  • Office environment with climate control.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential, with a willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • May encounter risks associated with criminal activity, with appropriate training provided to mitigate these risks.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of computer screens and sitting for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate office equipment and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Capability to stand or sit for long durations and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
