Position Overview:

Heritage Bank is excited to present an opportunity for a Relationship Banking Assistant. This role is essential in providing an exceptional customer service experience to both new and existing clients while collaborating with commercial banking teams. Responsibilities include in-office customer service, transaction processing, and account maintenance, all while adhering to regulatory requirements. You will actively recommend products and services that benefit our customers, in line with Heritage Bank's Service Standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute routine payment and receipt functions, ensuring daily work is balanced according to established procedures and authority limits. Identify potential fraudulent activities and escalate concerns promptly.
  • Conduct necessary due diligence for customer transactions and inquiries.
  • Support commercial partners in expanding client relationships and sales efforts, providing operational assistance, tracking client relationships, and processing required documentation.
  • Facilitate the opening of new accounts, ensuring compliance with all guidelines and verification procedures.
  • Assist in organizing branch operations, including transaction balancing, compliance, reporting, and timely completion of assignments.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all banking products and services, as well as relevant regulations.
  • Engage in marketing and sales initiatives, participating in community activities to enhance the Bank's presence.
  • Contribute to team success through individual goal achievement and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable banking laws and regulations.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in commercial or retail banking, including cash handling and customer relationship management.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in English.
  • Demonstrated sales acumen and the ability to identify customer needs.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and capable of quickly learning new technologies.
  • Integrity in handling sensitive information is essential.

Working Environment:

  • Climate-controlled office setting.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required, with flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed.
  • Exposure to potential risks associated with banking operations, with training provided to mitigate these risks.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of computer screens and sitting for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform cash handling tasks.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. may be required.
