Job Title: Member Solutions Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Member Solutions Officer to join our team at EvergreenDirect Credit Union. As a key member of our financial services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, resolving complex financial issues, and contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage delinquent and overdrawn accounts to determine appropriate action.
  • Initiate and respond to correspondence from members, providing timely and effective solutions to their financial needs.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and take payments by phone, ensuring a positive member experience.
  • Assign collateral for repossession when necessary and manage collateral through the sale process.
  • Process loan modifications and hardship requests, working closely with members to find mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Process all bankruptcy correspondence and take appropriate actions on behalf of the Credit Union.
  • Process charge-offs, write-offs, settlement negotiation, and assign charged-off debts to third-party collection agencies.
  • Respond to credit reporting disputes, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
  • Manage debt protection claims and processing, providing exceptional service to our members.
  • Monitor member auto and home insurance cancellations, taking proactive steps to prevent financial losses.
  • Coordinate with beneficiaries and Personal Representatives/Executors on deceased member estate/probate claims.
  • Represent EvergreenDirect Credit Union in legal matters related to collections and fraud, working closely with law enforcement and attorneys.
  • Manage expenses for repossessions and foreclosures, partnering with reputable vendors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Recognize and recommend process improvements, driving continuous quality and efficiency within our team.
Requirements:
  • Equivalent to a high school education.
  • One to three years of similar or related experience within a financial institution, with knowledge of federal and state regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and understanding of credit and underwriting evaluation.
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy and repossession laws and processes.
  • Experience with skip tracing tools such as Accurint.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently, with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with members, peers, and staff.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment, including Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.
  • Other skills and training considered a plus, including experience with account and loan fraud, underwriting and/or loan processing, and compliance training in areas such as the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act, Servicemember Civil Relief Act, Bank Secrecy Act and reporting, Currency Transaction reporting, USA Patriot Act, and Card fraud and risk.
