POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Cage Cashier is responsible for providing financial support to Cashiers in the Cage/Credit Division of the Finance Department and assisting Gaming Department personnel with their monetary needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists various departments in the accurate counting of gratuities.
  • Confirms all money drops and ensures deposits are made into the correct accounts.
  • Reconciles financial accounts to maintain accuracy.
  • Handles markers, returned checks, and guest deposits efficiently.
  • Processes payouts for significant jackpots.
  • Keeps detailed records of Main Bank operations.
  • Counts and balances foreign gaming chips.
  • Manages mutilated currency, preparing it for return to the bank.
  • Ensures assigned bank is balanced accurately.
  • Facilitates communication across the property by participating in regular departmental meetings.
  • Maintains a high standard of accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness in departmental records and reports.
  • Cashes gaming chips and tokens for guests in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Processes personal and travelers' checks for currency exchange.
  • Handles foreign currency exchanges, calculating precise rates for various currencies.
  • Manages marker buy-back transactions, ensuring quality service for each guest.
  • Provides assistance to fellow Cage Cashiers as needed.
  • Addresses minor guest disputes related to Cage operations.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of casino facilities and upcoming events to assist guests and staff.
  • Accesses funds and ensures prompt distribution to relevant areas.
  • Collaborates with Cage Management to develop and implement effective departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensures adequate staffing through training, scheduling, evaluation, and career development.
  • Guarantees the integrity of all financial data produced by team members.
  • Monitors all financial activities related to the Cage area, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assists in coordinating audits concerning banks, guest deposits, and rotation logs.
  • Guides Cage Cashiers in understanding their responsibilities within the department.
  • Strives to achieve and maintain a high level of service and satisfaction in the Cage area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or GED is required; some college coursework in banking, finance, or a related field is preferred.

SKILLS:

Effective communication skills are preferred. Candidates must be highly numbers-oriented and proficient with computers.

This position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as policy manuals and maintenance instructions. Ability to respond to common inquiries from employees or guests.

MATH SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands of this position require regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to handle objects. Employees may occasionally need to reach, climb, or balance, and may be required to move large quantities of bagged coins weighing approximately 20 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is typically loud and may be smoky, consistent with a casino setting.
