With a robust infrastructure designed to optimize value across various market conditions, we are currently seeking a Senior Vice President, Title Legal Counsel based in Texas.

Position Summary:
The selected candidate will serve as the primary in-house legal advisor for a national provider of title and settlement services. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all relevant state, federal, and local regulations impacting the business; offering general legal advice related to title insurance, licensing, underwriting, title claims, and both residential and commercial real estate transactions; conducting legal research; and drafting memoranda, policies, procedures, training materials, and other corporate communications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Research, implement, and oversee compliance with all regulations pertaining to title insurance, settlement services, and other related mortgage and real estate transactions.
- Collaborate closely with business unit leaders to guide decision-making and the execution of compliance policies while advising on risk management strategies.
- Facilitate audits conducted by regulatory bodies and underwriting partners.
- Negotiate, draft, and amend agreements with clients and vendors.
- Provide legal counsel regarding title claims, disputes, marketing materials, and other pertinent issues.
- Assist in the application and renewal processes for title producer/agent and other insurance-related licenses.
- Prepare reports and provide oversight to the General Counsel and senior management on compliance matters.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Essential Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies:
- Exceptional ability to analyze and interpret legal and statutory documents as well as state and federal regulations.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach.
- Effective presentation and written communication skills for interactions with the General Counsel and senior management.

Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of recent legal experience in the title and settlement services sector.
- Preference for candidates with both in-house and law firm experience.
- Proven experience in handling title claims and collaborating with title insurance underwriters.
- Background in reviewing and revising policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Experience working with state insurance departments on licensing and regulatory matters.
- Must be licensed to practice law in Texas.
