Job Title: Assistant General Counsel

At Memorial Health Care System, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Counsel to join our team. The successful candidate will provide support to the General Counsel and the organization on a variety of legal matters, ensuring compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in various legal projects, including contract review and negotiation.
  • Negotiate with outside parties on legal disputes, including settlements.
  • Monitor and manage outside counsel and outside legal budgets on assigned matters.
  • Investigate and develop solutions to legal issues and review/revises basic projects/contracts, as assigned.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Legal Department and management, outside counsel, governmental/regulatory agencies, and/or others as requested by the Legal Department.
  • Continually evaluate changes in laws and regulations, communicate those changes to business stakeholders, and draft policy changes, as required.
  • Provide support and assistance in developing and writing Standard Practices and policies.
  • Conduct research and drafts legal opinions or contracts, collaborating with other counsel as required.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clinical and business units in diverse matters affecting the day-to-day activities of the organization.
  • Attend meetings representing the Legal Department and identifies issues related to subject matters discussed.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate: Doctor of Jurisprudence (Required)
  • State Bar License: State of Florida (FL)
