Position Summary

Natera is seeking a highly skilled Lead/Staff Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Bioinformatics Research Team focused on Epigenomics in Oncology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and validating innovative algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large-scale data sets related to cancer detection.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge algorithms and statistical methods to analyze complex genomic data
  • Collaborate with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problems and advance our understanding of cancer biology
  • Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control
  • Act as technical lead during various phases of research and product development
  • Mentor and train other bioinformatics scientists
Qualifications
  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with a strong focus on cancer epi/genomics
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience working in the bioinformatics field, including algorithm development, data analysis, and machine learning
  • Deep understanding of sequencing data and public databases such as TCGA, COSMIC, or OncoKB
  • Experience in Python and Linux command-line tools
  • Ability to visualize findings and summarize results in oral and written form for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • High scientific rigor and eager to teach and learn about new computational methods and biology
