About the Role:
The New York Post, a leading news organization, is seeking a highly skilled SEO Content Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our SEO team, you will play a crucial role in implementing effective content optimization strategies to drive traffic and engagement on our digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement SEO Strategies: Collaborate with editorial teams to provide on- and off-page optimization recommendations, develop keyword-targeted content, and perform keyword research to identify coverage gaps and emerging trends.
- Content Creation and Editing: Copy edit and audit written articles for SEO best practices, and work closely with SEO and editorial team members to develop content strategies for evergreen, timely, and event-based content.
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and track reporting on traffic and rankings, and stay up-to-date on industry trends and Google's web standards to translate them into workable solutions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective content optimization strategies, and effectively communicate with stakeholders to ensure seamless execution.
Requirements:
- Experience: 1-2 years' experience working in-house in SEO and editorial, with a background in digital news preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively balance priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience with WordPress, HTML, and competitive SEO tools (SEMrush, Google Trends, Search Console, Google Analytics) is a plus.
- Availability: Availability to work evening and weekend hours.

What We Offer:
- Competitive Pay: $20 per hour to $25 per hour, depending on experience.
- Hybrid Work Model: Three (3) days per week from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
