SEO Coordinator Part-Time

The New York Post is seeking a highly skilled SEO Coordinator to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our SEO team, you will play a crucial role in implementing effective content optimization strategies and leading our initiative with Google News Showcase.
Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a comprehensive Google News Showcase strategy to promote the company's reporting and voice in Google News and Google Discover
- Collaborate with editorial teams to provide on- and off-page optimization recommendations and develop keyword-targeted content
- Conduct keyword research to identify coverage gaps and emerging trends across various sections, and pitch content ideas to editorial stakeholders
- Work closely with the SEO and editorial teams to develop content strategies for evergreen, timely, and event-based content
- Review and edit written articles for SEO best practices
- Monitor and track reporting on traffic and rankings
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and Google's web standards, and translate them into workable solutions
- 1-2 years' experience working in-house in SEO and editorial; a background in digital news is preferred
- A passion for digital news, SEO, and content strategy
- Experience with WordPress, HTML, and competitive SEO tools (SEMrush, Google Trends, Search Console, Google Analytics) is a plus
- Availability to work evening and weekend hours
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively balance priorities and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
