Job Title: Behavior Technician - Tacoma

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team at Lilac City Behavioral Services in Tacoma. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing one-on-one special education to our students with special needs.

Job Summary:

The Behavior Technician will be responsible for implementing skill development strategies, collecting data, and delivering teaching trials to our students. You will also be responsible for communicating with teachers and BCBA's regarding student events, documenting progress, and maintaining a clean and organized facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement skill development strategies, including data collection and delivery of teaching trials
  • Communicate with teachers and BCBA's regarding student events
  • Document progress and maintain a clean and organized facility
  • Support Lead Technician with indirect tasks
  • Support teachers/BCBA's with assessments and goal drafts
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation, driver's license, and valid car insurance
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete application for Certified Behavior Technician license
  • Successful completion of 40 hour training within 1 week of employment (stipend upon completion)
  • CPR certification within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children in school, home, or community settings
  • Experience with and understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Experience working with children with special needs
  • 2 or 4 year degree in Education, Psychology, or related field
  • Candidates who hold a current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential or Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) will be given first consideration
Working Environment:

The Behavior Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with moderate to occasional loud noise from students, toys, and normal school equipment. The position requires physical activity and occasional physical management of students, therefore may present conditions for injury.
