About the Job:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team at Lilac Learning Center. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing one-on-one support to our students with special needs, helping them to develop essential skills and behaviors.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group formats
  • Utilize a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements in home, clinic, and community settings
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Follow and record data for prescribed training protocols
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
  • Utilize safe & appropriate procedures when working with clients
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
  • Lift or move up to 50lb
  • Sit, stand and move with children to maintain effective programming and implement safety procedures as directed by the BCBA, described in client programs or to prevent imminent harm
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Collaborate professionally with the treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, Lead Behavioral Technician, Behavior Analyst and co-workers
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with clients individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Assist Lead Behavioral Technician, and Behavior Analysts with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments
  • Assist Lead Behavioral Technician and Behavior Analysts in preparing client materials as instructed
  • Assume Lead Behavioral Technician responsibilities in their absence
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings
  • Maintain reliable transportation, drivers license and auto insurance in good standing and provide documentation of such to employer when requested
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation, driver's license, working cell phone and valid car insurance
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to pass a background check & complete application for Certified Behavior Technician license
  • Successful completion of 40 hour training within 1 week of employment (stipend upon completion)
  • CPR required within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children in school, home or community settings
  • Experience with & understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Experience working with children with special needs
  • 2 or 4 year degree in Education, Psychology, or related field
  • Candidates who hold a current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential or Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) will be given first consideration
