Behavior Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team at Lilac Learning Center. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing one-on-one special education to our students with special needs.

Responsibilities:
- Students
- Implement skill development strategies, including data collection and delivery of teaching trials
- Implement behavior reduction protocols, including following BIPs and Safety Care (Physical Management)
- Communicate with teachers/BCBAs regarding student events
- Document student progress
- Prepare meals and administer medication as needed
- Staff
- Support Lead Technician with indirect tasks
- Support teachers/BCBAs with assessments and goal drafts
- Facility
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility
- Operate company vehicles
Requirements:
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective organizational skills
- Good public relations skills
- Ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to think and act autonomously in a variety of situations
- Ability to define and solve practical problems
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to physically respond to physically active and aggressive children, adolescents, and young adults
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in school, home, or community settings
- Experience with and understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Experience working with children with special needs
- 2 or 4-year degree in Education, Psychology, or related field

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation, driver's license, working cell phone, and valid car insurance
- Experience working with children
- Ability to pass a background check and complete application for Certified Behavior Technician license
- Successful completion of 40-hour training within 1 week of employment (stipend upon completion)
- CPR certification (required within 30 days of hire)
