Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team at Lilac Learning Center. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing one-on-one special education to our students with special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Students
    • Implement skill development strategies, including data collection and delivery of teaching trials
    • Implement behavior reduction protocols, including following BIPs and Safety Care (Physical Management)
    • Communicate with teachers/BCBAs regarding student events
    • Document student progress
    • Prepare meals and administer medication as needed
  • Staff
    • Support Lead Technician with indirect tasks
    • Support teachers/BCBAs with assessments and goal drafts
  • Facility
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility
    • Operate company vehicles

Requirements:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Good public relations skills
  • Ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to think and act autonomously in a variety of situations
  • Ability to define and solve practical problems
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to physically respond to physically active and aggressive children, adolescents, and young adults

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in school, home, or community settings
  • Experience with and understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Experience working with children with special needs
  • 2 or 4-year degree in Education, Psychology, or related field

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation, driver's license, working cell phone, and valid car insurance
  • Experience working with children
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete application for Certified Behavior Technician license
  • Successful completion of 40-hour training within 1 week of employment (stipend upon completion)
  • CPR certification (required within 30 days of hire)
