Position Overview

Our client operates an
IBM mainframe that supports a critical application, specifically their claims adjudication system.

Due to a vacancy in the COBOL programming team, our client is seeking an immediate replacement for a 6-month contract with potential for conversion to a permanent role.

The role involves making enhancements to the claims system to ensure efficient first-pass adjudication, minimizing the need for manual processing.

Regular assessments and updates are necessary, as all medical claims adjudication applications are developed in COBOL, making them vital to operations.

The selected candidate will focus on application development rather than systems administration. A solid understanding of COBOL programming on a mainframe is essential, along with the ability to articulate the business aspects of a payer and the claims adjudication workflow.

The ideal candidate should not be hesitant in decision-making and should possess the ability to devise and implement plans effectively. Mentorship capabilities for junior team members will be highly valued.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a combination of onsite and remote work. Core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM CST.
