We are in search of a dedicated product and application specialist to spearhead our Hydraulic and Pneumatic fluid power initiatives. At Purvis, we pride ourselves on being more than just a distributor; we offer in-house engineering, service, and contractor resources, ensuring our team can address customer needs efficiently.
Role Responsibilities
The Hydraulic and Pneumatic Fluid Power Application Engineer will collaborate with our field sales team to enhance sales of hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems to both new and existing clients. This will be achieved through direct outreach within the designated Purvis geographical area and through digital communication channels (Teams, phone, video chat). Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in direct sales efforts to secure orders.
- Coordinating fluid power sales and systems with various branches and regional managers.
- Identifying target accounts and potential prospects.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and events for fluid power.
- Providing marketing insights for digital content and social media.
- Utilizing AutoCAD, Solidworks, and manufacturer-specific software.
- Delivering advanced technical application support via phone, video conference, or in-person meetings.
- Staying informed on new products and technologies, educating customers and team members accordingly.
- Managing warranty claims and collaborating with suppliers to resolve complex issues.
- Conducting technical training sessions for customers and Purvis team members on hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- A strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power, engineering principles, and innovative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- A solid work ethic with meticulous attention to detail.
- The capability to interpret and understand technical drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Teams.
- A valid driving record.
Education & Experience
Preferred qualifications include a B.S. in Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of five years in hydraulic and pneumatic fluid power.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position with standard working hours, requiring up to 50% domestic travel. Compensation is commensurate with experience, and a company vehicle will be provided.
