Position Overview

The Project Manager role entails overseeing electric utility construction initiatives in collaboration with utility contractors, engineering, procurement, and construction (E.P.C) firms, as well as renewable energy developers. This position is pivotal in managing the order lifecycle, from order receipt to payment, with a focus on internal support. Responsibilities encompass all post-sales activities, including order processing, proposal generation for additional sales, coordination among customer engineering, estimators, and manufacturers to tackle project challenges, managing customer payment applications, resolving payment discrepancies, and maintaining warranty documentation. The primary objective is to cultivate relationships with clients to drive business growth by ensuring a seamless experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a vital member of the Project Services Team, overseeing the order-to-payment cycle for both new and existing business relationships.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of project specifications during the transition from estimators at the point of order entry.
  • Enhance sales opportunities by crafting proposals that address issues arising during project execution.
  • Manage warranty documentation and oversee the warranty claims process.
  • Utilize Project Services tools to organize opportunities, manage projects within the system, and ensure timely payments.
  • Provide insights to management on strategies to optimize sales for both new and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with all Sonepar operations and personnel to support our Project Services framework.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Outstanding communication abilities.
  • Capacity to comprehend and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and drawings.
  • Ability to devise innovative solutions for customer and company challenges, particularly in major account sales.
  • Proficient in utilizing technology to enhance the sales process.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the industry or distributor sales is preferred. (5+ years of experience in the Utility Industry is highly desirable.)
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited institution; or three to five years of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience. An Engineering or Technical degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
