Respiratory Care Practitioner

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner at the University of California, Irvine, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Care and upon the request of the physician, you will assist in the collection and analysis of sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
- Measure the lung capacity of patients to determine if there is impaired function.
- Perform a variety of tasks, including collecting and analyzing specimens, and measuring lung capacity.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory care to patients of all ages.
- Good clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
- Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner License, BLS, ACLS Provider, and PALS Provider minimum requirement.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
