We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our clinical enterprise.
Responsibilities- Assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Care and upon the request of the physician.
- Collect and analyze sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
- Measure the lung capacity of patients to determine if there is impaired function.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the scope of respiratory care.
- Perform a variety of tasks, requiring a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
- Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory care to the age of the patients served.
- Good clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication skills - both verbal and written in English.
- Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner License, BLS, ACLS Provider, and PALS Provider minimum requirement.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
