Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Care Practitioner will assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical judgment, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
- Measures lung capacity to determine if there is impaired function.
- Performs a variety of tasks, requiring a certain degree of creativity and latitude.
- Collaborates with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory care to patients of all ages.
- Good clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner License, BLS, ACLS Provider, and PALS Provider minimum requirement.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
