About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation & Controls Engineer to join our team at OnLogic, a leading provider of custom computers and hardware solutions for businesses worldwide. As a key member of our Operational Excellence team, you will play a central role in designing and implementing automation solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity across our global facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Enhance Production Workflows: Utilize your expertise in LEAN principles and process improvement methodologies to optimize production workflows, material flow, warehouse and production automation, and overall plant layout.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing Principles: Develop and implement lean manufacturing principles such as kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement methods to drive efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with production, engineering, quality, supply chain, and facilities teams to streamline processes and address operational challenges.
  • Identify Opportunities for Automation and Process Enhancements: Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, quality, safety, and cost to identify opportunities for automation, process enhancements, and technology upgrades.
  • Develop and Maintain Standard Operating Procedures: Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing and material movement processes.
  • Monitor and Analyze KPIs: Monitor and analyze KPIs related to productivity, quality, safety, and cost to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure Compliance with Industry Regulations: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Manage Multiple Projects: Manage and prioritize multiple projects concurrently while adhering to timelines and budgets.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering: A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a relevant field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ Years of Experience in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Operations: At least 10 years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in LEAN Principles and Automation Tools: Proficiency in LEAN principles, process improvement methodologies, and utilization of automation & controls engineering tools and techniques.
  • Experience with Industrial Automation and Robotics: Experience with industrial automation, robotics, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Manufacturing Software: Proficiency in Google Workspace and familiarity with manufacturing-related software (e.g., CAD software, ERP, MES).
  • Ability to Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in HMI, SCADA, and SQL: Proficient in HMI, SCADA, SQL.
