Your Role:
As a Lead Composite Fabrication Specialist, you will collaborate with a skilled team of engineers and technicians to:
- Fabricate, modify, and assemble composite components for electric aircraft and related equipment.
- Install and repair composite parts while managing materials and supplies.
- Maintain the composite shop facilities to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:
- Precisely locate, align, and drill holes in composite and metallic materials.
- Handle aircraft-grade materials with proficiency.
- Utilize aviation assembly tooling and semi-automated drilling equipment effectively.
- Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and follow quality control processes.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Work independently while being a reliable team member.
- Possess fine motor skills for delicate tasks involving power and hand tools.
- Thrive under pressure to meet project deadlines.
- Keep the workspace organized and tidy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in composite manufacturing or a related field.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to work collaboratively under pressure.
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in work.
- Innovative mindset with a focus on process improvement and quality promotion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various semi-automated drilling techniques and equipment.
- Familiarity with ISO/AS9100 standards and processes.
- Understanding of fundamental variables affecting composite materials.
- Skills in automotive body preparation, including sanding, polishing, and gel coat application.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The physical requirements for this position include:
- Ability to perform a variety of physical activities, including walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Operating material handling equipment safely.
- Working in diverse environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
- Utilizing personal protective equipment as necessary.
