We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a focus on Azure to enhance our Core Infrastructure Services team. This role is remote, allowing for daily telecommuting.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Systems Engineer will collaborate with a skilled team of Systems Engineers dedicated to securing, maintaining, and monitoring the server environment across the enterprise. Responsibilities include conducting utilization studies, establishing fault notification processes, analyzing data to identify trends, and creating automated proactive measures to prevent application downtime. This role also provides second and third-level end-user support and mentors Operations team members. Close collaboration with other members of the Ardent Information Technology team is essential to support the company’s mission and long-term strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver senior-level support for Azure Services in a Hybrid Environment.
  • Provide mid-level support for Microsoft Windows Servers and associated infrastructure services.
  • Assist in implementing new technologies, ensuring all procedural documentation is accurate, and facilitating knowledge transfer from the engineering team before any technology is deployed in production.
  • Contribute to enterprise-level strategic projects, meeting milestone deadlines and completing project action items.
  • Manage data within corporate change, problem management, and request systems; oversee the assignment and completion of tasks documented in these systems; escalate issues to management as necessary. This role may also serve as a point of contact for vendor interactions regarding issue resolution.
  • Install various software types, including operating systems and applications, across diverse hardware platforms, including system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and develop proactive solutions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Serve as level 2 support for core infrastructure services using the incident management ticketing system, collaborating closely with IT&S teams to resolve internal customer issues.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in information technology.
  • PowerShell experience and knowledge preferred.
  • Prior experience in the healthcare sector preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Mid-level knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2016, 2019, & 2022).
  • Mid-level knowledge of core infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, IIS, Group Policies, File Services, etc.).
  • Expert-level knowledge of Azure, including Microsoft 365 services and the integration between cloud and on-premises solutions.
  • Working knowledge of highly available network solutions across multiple data centers.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
  • Familiarity with applicable data privacy practices and laws (HIPAA) preferred.
