Job Overview

**Quality Control Manager at Banker Steel Company LLC**

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in welding inspection and structural steel, with a Certified Welding Inspector credential
  • Ability to interpret drawings, codes, and industry standards
  • Experienced in visual and dimensional inspections of structural steel
  • Knowledge of GMAW and FCAW welding techniques
  • Competent in Windows-based computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with a willingness to learn new systems
  • Preferred certification or experience in Magnetic Particle (MT) Inspection
  • Preferred certification or experience in Blasting and Coating Inspection
  • Prior experience in a managerial role is advantageous
  • OSHA 10 certification is required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze structural drawings, codes, and standards
  • Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of welds and perform other related tasks as needed
  • Record inspections and evaluations using computer systems and barcode technology
  • Participate in project reviews by representing the Quality department in inspection and certification aspects, including NDE and coatings application
  • Assess personnel certification and training requirements to ensure adequate staffing for all inspection functions in line with contract and Quality Plan standards
  • Organize and manage training sessions to maintain personnel and facility certifications necessary for project obligations
  • Provide guidance to Management on technical matters, personnel, inspections, product quality, and non-conformance issues
  • Oversee the scheduling of all QC staff to guarantee appropriate quality oversight in fabrication facilities
  • Suggest improvements in equipment, systems, and processes to enhance safety and quality, aiding all departments in achieving the company's quality objectives
  • Recommend disciplinary actions to relevant management personnel
  • Authorize or deny requests for time off

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in various indoor environments, including extreme temperatures, dust, and noise
  • Capable of lifting up to 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Must be able to carry weights of up to 20 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Frequent standing, walking, reaching, balancing, and handling objects will be necessary
  • Regular sitting, climbing, reaching overhead, bending, and crouching will be required
  • Must wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment appropriately
