Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Service Technician to join our team at 135 Aurora Health Care Southern Lakes, Inc. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and registered nurses in providing technical care to patients by performing tasks such as phlebotomy, patient transportation, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Document patient information and procedures, and communicate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Process patient charges and related procedures through our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
  • Collaborate with physicians to facilitate patient care and coordinate communications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to department safety policies and standard precautions.
  • Monitor equipment and troubleshoot minor issues, arranging repairs for major malfunctions.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and lifting up to 50 pounds from floor to waist.
Requirements
  • Nurse Aide certification in good standing, or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic license, or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work with EHR systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during work shifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, and push/pull with 30 pounds of force.
  • Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and blood and body fluids hazards on a continuous basis.
