Position Overview

Annual Compensation: $54,080 - $60,320 (Hourly Rate: $26.00 to $29.00)

This role is classified as non-exempt. Candidates must successfully complete a background screening.

Work Environment and Schedule

Northwest Asthma and Allergy Center operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Role Summary

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a crucial role in facilitating a positive patient experience at our clinic. As the initial point of contact, the PSR is responsible for managing patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and performing various administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients upon their arrival
  • Confirm and update patient records for accurate billing
  • Secure necessary patient consents
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Verify insurance details and ensure all required information is entered into the EMR system
  • Handle patient communications and inquiries
  • Collect co-payments and outstanding balances
  • Assist with referral management, including insurance verification and record collection
  • Monitor the patient waiting area
  • Perform document scanning, faxing, and mailing as required
  • Occasional travel to other clinic locations may be necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate empathy, and manage multiple tasks
  • Effective communication skills with attention to detail in spelling and grammar
  • Proficient in using computer systems and telecommunication devices
