Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead our transmission line and substation projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, risk management, and contract management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage large transmission line and substation projects or programs of projects that are typically $100M dollars and above.
  • Develop and deliver capital projects or programs to achieve project cost and schedule objectives while ensuring excellence in project safety and quality.
  • Work directly with the project team to ensure project delivery with cost and schedule certainty.
  • Manage risks and risk management issues to ensure risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Collaborate with the Capital Projects Project Controls group to ensure alignment with the Stage Gate Process and proper project controls are implemented.
  • Provide direct management and support to project team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with business unit contractor representatives to achieve capital project objectives.
  • Promote safe behavior and adherence to safety rules on the project.
  • Lead the project team to establish leading indicators and proactive requirements to ensure safety is considered in all aspects of design and implementation.
  • Ensure contract scope of work includes safety deliverables/requirements as needed.
  • Define the project organization structure required for the project and identify the technical skills required to achieve project goals.
  • Work with Entergy management to assign appropriately skilled individuals to the project team.
  • Prepare contract and approve requisitions, change orders, etc.
  • Fulfill the role of Contract Manager or Owner's representative as defined in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract, project contracts, and administer contracts.
  • Issue formal correspondence to contractors.
  • Lead the project team to develop and execute the project in accordance with applicable corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Navigate the project through the Entergy Stage Gate Process (SGP) and coordinate activities to meet the requirements of Entergy's SGP and associated deliverables.
  • Oversee the project team in the development of project deliverables.
  • Coordinate the activities of project stakeholders and working groups engaged in project work.
  • Deliver projects with cost and schedule certainty; manage and control costs; manage risk by identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Provide clear, timely, and accurate project status reports for management.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to management.
  • Identify, make timely decisions, and take prompt action on project issues that could impact project performance.
  • Promptly communicate issues to the next level of leadership that are outside the authority or capability of the Project Manager to resolve.
  • Coordinate with all functional departments as required to achieve the requirements of the applicable corporate standards and to achieve project budget and timeline.
  • Monitor contractor performance in the area of project safety, schedule, cost, quality of work, and compliance with contractual requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Manages multiple related teams, sets organizational priorities, and allocates resources.
