Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Planning or a related field, with a minimum of ten years' experience in leading the preparation and processing of planning documents within California. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is highly preferred.

The successful candidate will possess strong knowledge of California planning and zoning laws, as well as experience in managing comprehensive planning projects, programming and conducting public engagement programs, business development, and staff mentorship. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organization and management abilities, and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suites and ArcGIS are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and processing of planning documents, including General Plans, Specific Plans, Community/Corridor Master Plans, Development Applications, Zoning and other Ordinances, and development applications.
  • Manage comprehensive planning projects, including programming and conducting public engagement programs.
  • Develop and implement business development strategies, including identifying new business opportunities and building relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
