About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Planner to join our team at the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing regional air quality plans, policies, and programs to address air quality challenges and promote environmental justice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex environmental planning studies and activities, including the preparation of non-attainment area plans and environmental impact assessment documents.
  • Develop and implement programs to reduce air pollution and health disparities in overburdened communities.
  • Collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to develop regional development issues and ensure compliance with air quality regulations.
  • Provide lead direction and training to junior planners on routine, continuing, or well-defined tasks.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and complete technical documents, reports, and correspondence.
Requirements
  • Equivalent to a graduate degree in regional, urban, or environmental planning or a closely related field.
  • Three years of professional environmental planning experience, with a focus on air quality management and environmental justice.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills, with experience in supervising and training junior planners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of air quality regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as experience with data visualization tools.
