Fund Development Director

As a key member of our team, the Fund Development Director will play a crucial role in creating and executing a comprehensive development program to support the growth and sustainability of The SF Market.
Job SummaryThe Fund Development Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to secure funding from various sources, including foundations, corporations, and individual donors. This includes identifying and cultivating new funding opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and creating and executing effective fundraising campaigns.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to achieve the organization's fundraising goals.
- Identify and cultivate new funding opportunities, including foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, staff, and external partners.
- Create and execute effective fundraising campaigns, including grant writing, event planning, and donor stewardship.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to track fundraising progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the organization's mission and goals.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the development team to ensure successful execution of fundraising initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in fundraising and development.
- 8-10 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing funding from foundations, corporations, and individual donors.
- 3-5 years of experience in development management, preferably as a Chief Development Officer, Vice President of Development, or Director of Development.
- 5+ years of experience in funder cultivation and solicitation, with a proven track record of building relationships and securing gifts in the 5- and 6-figure range.
- Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including board members, staff, and external partners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the organization's mission and goals to various audiences.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines, with a focus on achieving fundraising goals.
- Experience with donor management software and other fundraising tools.
The SF Market offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) matching program.
