Patient Access Representative ER Registration

As a Patient Access Representative ER Registration at Jefferson Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients arriving at our Emergency Department. This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment where you will be responsible for greeting patients and visitors, identifying and responding to their needs, and communicating all urgencies to the clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Registration Supervisor, and Team Lead, you will work closely with clinical staff, interpreters, and other ancillary areas to respond to the needs of patients.
- You will correctly identify and band each patient during Pre-Registration.
- You will obtain and/or verify all patient demographic, contact information, insurance and eligibility information, as well as primary physician information during the bed-side registration process each visit.
- You will obtain authorization/consent signatures as required.
- You will work closely with clinical staff, interpreters, and other ancillary areas to respond to the needs of patients.
Requirements
- High school degree or GED.
- Previous customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Patient Access Registration Experience, preferably in the ER.
