As a Commissioning Engineer II in our organization, you will play a crucial role in empowering clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, contribute to environmental sustainability, and foster a greener future for all.

Key Responsibilities

In this capacity, you will engage in project construction and contract administration activities, which include:
  • Developing and coordinating system testing procedures.
  • Organizing user training sessions.
  • Administering functional performance tests.
  • Conducting field observations.
  • Participating in progress meetings.
  • Assisting in document control.

Qualifications

Attributes of a Successful Commissioning Engineer II:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering (or a related engineering discipline) from an accredited institution.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building systems across various disciplines, with fundamental knowledge in at least one area such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, instrumentation and controls, or building envelope systems.
  • Familiarity with applicable design codes, standards, and specifications, along with the ability to interpret them effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of commissioning processes and their delivery.
  • Proficiency in engineering calculation software and the ability to learn computer-aided drafting/BIM software for design interpretation.
  • Commissioning certification from a recognized professional organization.
  • Valid driver's license and state-required vehicle insurance.
Essential Skills for Success:
  • Experience in integrating personal judgment with diverse data to perform and assess system calculations and design alternatives.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, including delegating tasks and providing constructive feedback.
  • Capability to anticipate project needs and balance workloads among team members.
  • Proficiency in accessing and interpreting various design and contract documents, including BIM models.
  • Ability to apply safety training to specific construction scenarios to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Experience in the safe use of testing and measurement equipment and common tools.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE) or the potential to obtain a Professional Engineering license (PE) in one or more states.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Quick technical comprehension with a focus on client outcomes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in working independently and collaboratively within team settings.
