Key Responsibilities:

As a Commissioning Engineer II, your duties will encompass:

  • Executing project construction activities and managing contract administration.
  • Developing and coordinating system testing procedures.
  • Organizing user training sessions and administering functional performance tests.
  • Conducting field observations and participating in progress meetings.
  • Assisting in document control processes.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A solid understanding of building systems across various disciplines, with fundamental knowledge in at least one area such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or building envelope systems.
  • Familiarity with applicable design codes, standards, and specifications, along with the ability to interpret them effectively.
  • A foundational understanding of commissioning processes and their delivery.
  • Proficiency in engineering calculation software and the ability to learn computer-aided drafting/BIM software.
  • Commissioning certification from a recognized professional organization.
  • A valid driver's license and state-required vehicle insurance.

Essential Skills:

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • The ability to combine personal judgment with diverse data to perform and evaluate system calculations and design options.
  • Strong teamwork skills, including effective communication with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Anticipation of project needs and the ability to delegate and balance tasks effectively.
  • Capability to interpret various design and contract documents, including BIM models.
  • Application of safety training to specific construction scenarios to maintain safe work environments.
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment and common tools.
  • Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE) or the ability to obtain a Professional Engineering license (PE) in one or more states.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Quick technical comprehension and a focus on client outcomes.
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
