Mechanical Engineer EIT/PE (Mid to Senior Level)
We are in search of experienced Mechanical Engineers to fill mid to senior-level positions. Ideal candidates will possess a solid background in mechanical engineering within a MEP design and consulting environment.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
  • Professional License is highly preferred, though not mandatory.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within a MEP design and consulting context.
  • Proficiency in HVAC Systems Design.
  • Skilled in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Mechanical Systems: Chilled Water, Refrigeration, Ammonia Systems, Compressed Air Systems, Plumbing & Fire Protection, Boiler & Steam / Hot Water Distribution Systems, Heating, Ventilation, & Air-Conditioning Systems, Water / Wastewater Systems, Process Design, PFD, P&ID, Equipment Specification, Evaluation, & Selection, Utility Piping / Equipment Connections, Power Generation / Cogeneration, Life Cycle Cost Analysis & Energy Modeling.
Duties:
  • Execute mechanical engineering tasks throughout all phases of project development, including client interaction, pre-design services, final design services, meetings, site evaluations, and project management.
  • Conduct surveys of existing conditions and prepare PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details as necessary to document relevant conditions.
  • Develop initial concepts for process, mechanical, and plumbing designs for projects, maintaining overall responsibility for engineering and design work related to these systems and compliance with code requirements.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, such as architectural, structural, electrical, and controls, to address complex challenges (e.g., conflicting design requirements, unsuitable materials, intricate coordination needs).
  • Organize and produce process, mechanical, and plumbing construction drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, sections, elevations, and details), technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • Formulate engineering solutions and designs, cost estimates, bill of materials, and project schedules.
  • Possess knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems.
  • Engage in the contract bidding process, prepare responses to contractor inquiries, and manage bulletin and change order documentation.
  • Provide field engineering and construction support, including shop drawing reviews and on-site observations.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
