Human Resources Coordinator

As a Human Resource Coordinator at Westin San Diego, you will play a vital role in supporting management and the leadership team with handling and resolving Human Resources issues. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our hotel.
Responsibilities:- Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required with at least 2 years of Human Resources experience.
- College course work in a related field is helpful.
- Familiarity with and knowledge of basic Human Resources principles.
- Proficient with Windows operating systems, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
- Effective problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
- Effective listening, understanding, clarifying, and resolving skills to address concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data, including basic arithmetic functions.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Approach all encounters with guests and associates in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality dress code.
- Comply with and ensure adherence to Aimbridge Hospitality's standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
- Associates must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow associates.
- Assist employees with internal and external transfer requests and procedures.
- Monitor and assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and issues.
- Coordinate and conduct applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and social security number verification.
- Maintain applicant flow, drug screen orientation, and transfer request logs.
- Create and maintain new hire and personnel files and enter them into Human Resources Information Systems.
- Assist with orientation of new employees.
- Monitor all hiring and recruitment processes for compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and company policies and standards.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files (e.g., interview documents, I-9's).
- Support processing and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with policies and procedures as necessary.
- Inform Human Resources management of issues related to employee relations within the division or property.
- Create and maintain filing systems.
- Generate Human Resources data reports as necessary.
- Answer phone calls and record messages.
- Create and type office correspondence using a computer.
- Serve as Human Resources subject matter expert and participate on project teams.
- Train new hires on Human Resources processes, programs, policies, information systems, etc.
- Communicate effectively with others using clear and professional language.
