Job Title: College and Career Coach

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced College and Career Coach to join our team at the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation. As a College and Career Coach, you will play a critical role in helping students prepare for college and their careers by providing guidance, support, and resources to ensure their success.

Job Summary:

The College and Career Coach will work closely with students, educators, and employers to develop and implement career development programs that align with industry needs. This includes increasing student enrollment and completion rates in Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, promoting work-based learning experiences, and providing career preparation support to students.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement career development programs that align with industry needs
  • Work with students, educators, and employers to increase student enrollment and completion rates in CTE pathways
  • Promote work-based learning experiences, such as job shadows and internships, to students
  • Provide career preparation support to students, including resume writing, mock interviews, and workplace etiquette training
  • Collaborate with school administrators to provide flexible schedules and remove barriers for students to participate in work-based learning experiences
  • Develop in-school career awareness, exploration, and work-based learning events and activities
  • Assist with identifying transportation solutions for students to access work-based learning opportunities
  • Empower educators to reimagine classroom learning through employer-led educator externships
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years experience in volunteer management, counseling, coaching, education, or community relations
  • Minimum 1-year experience working with youth required, preferably in a teaching or guidance counselor capacity
  • Minimum 1-year experience working with schools, school leaders, and/or staff
  • Being bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred
  • Experience working in the industry is also highly preferred
  • Experience implementing a strategic plan is highly preferred
  • Understanding of, and experience with, embedding work-based learning, project-based learning, and/or experiential learning opportunities into curriculum preferred
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to establish professional relationships
  • Must possess analytical ability to solve problems, anticipate challenges, and identify opportunities and solutions
  • Must be able to provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers at all levels of an organization
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to stay organized while managing multiple tasks. Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in all MS Office products
  • Must be able to travel to schools and partners regularly; reliable transportation is necessary
  • Must be able to pass a background check, fingerprint clearance, and a drug test
