We Are Actively Looking for Community Support Specialists Dedicated to Creating Opportunities for Individuals.

A Community Support Specialist at SPIN's Community Participation Supports plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals by facilitating participation in both individual and group activities at SPIN's Community Center.

Key Responsibilities of a Community Support Specialist:

· Provide care and assistance to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals in accordance with their Individual Support Plans (ISP).

· Implement and monitor personalized plans to achieve specific outcomes based on individual preferences, needs, and interests.

· Administer and uphold behavioral support plans as necessary.

· Promote optimal health by teaching essential skills, providing necessary support, and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices.

· Ensure that all individuals are actively engaged and participating to the fullest extent possible.

· Assist individuals in developing and maintaining meaningful schedules for community participation.

· Guide individuals in navigating the local community, including the use of public transportation.

· Encourage participation in community activities, organizations, and clubs to foster social connections and relationships.

· Support individuals in exploring hobbies or leisure interests that provide a sense of purpose and responsibility.

· Facilitate opportunities for individuals to engage in volunteer work.

· Assist individuals in developing skills necessary for competitive integrated employment.

· Support individuals in adult education, self-determination, and self-advocacy initiatives.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED;

· Must be at least 18 years old;

· Valid PA/NJ Driver's License with a minimum of one year of driving experience;

· Covid-19 Vaccination required;

· Availability to attend a 2.5-week paid training program from 8 am to 5 pm.
