Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer III to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our Unity Lab Services (ULS) organization, you will be responsible for delivering routine service activities for our Chromatography Service group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site installations, repairs, maintenance, qualifications, and validations of chromatography and mass spectroscopy instruments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, working closely with customers to resolve technical issues and ensure timely completion of service activities.
  • Use customer management software to review service calls, manage parts inventories, and complete job tasks.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues, including diagnosing problems with mechanical, optical, and electronic instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with specialists, engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs and drive quick resolution.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with customers to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years hands-on experience servicing analytical equipment, gained either as an Engineer, application specialist, or working as a Scientist in a laboratory.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems with mechanical, optical, and electronic instrumentation.
  • Basic instructional abilities to provide customer familiarization instruction.
  • Prioritize clinical customer requirements and establish realistic schedules to meet requirements.
  • Produce clear, detailed, and concise documentation and customer reports.
