Compensation: $25.00 per hour

Vannguard Utility Partners is actively seeking dedicated Underground Utility Locators to join our workforce. We value individuals who are self-driven and thrive in a drug-free environment.

As an Underground Utility Locator, you will enjoy the independence of working outdoors while being part of a vital safety initiative. We provide comprehensive training for candidates who demonstrate a commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Your role will involve driving a company vehicle to various job sites and utilizing specialized equipment and computer utility maps to accurately identify underground utilities, including cables and pipes. This is essential to prevent damage and ensure safety in excavation, landscaping, and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a company vehicle from home to job sites in response to service requests and emergencies.
  • Employ mapping tools and locating equipment to identify underground utilities, including electric, gas, and communication lines.
  • Mark utility locations using paint and flags, and relay pertinent information to excavation teams or relevant authorities.
  • Be available for after-hours emergency call-outs as per the established schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license in the applicable state.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Must comply with Vannguard's Drug-Free Workplace Program and pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Able to manage tasks independently and communicate effectively with supervisors and clients.

Physical Requirements:

  • Drive significant distances daily as required by job assignments.
  • Frequent entry and exit from the vehicle.
  • Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain in various weather conditions.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting while driving.
  • Lift and move items weighing between 50 to 150 pounds.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Licensing:

  • Driver's License (Required)

Work Environment:

  • Various locations

Job Type: Full-time

COVID-19 Considerations: This position primarily involves outdoor work with minimal interpersonal contact.

Experience:
