We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Industrial Sales Representative to join our team at Applied Industrial Technologies. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, while also identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales, with a strong understanding of fluid power components and systems. You will be responsible for conducting sales and service activities, developing strong customer relationships, and identifying product applications and introducing new products and services.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Achieving sales and profit goals by developing existing customers, opening new business, and customer retention
  • Conducting sales and service activities, developing strong customer relationships, identifying product applications, and introducing new products and services
  • Partnering with manufacturer reps and our support team to help spec in products/systems that will enhance customer performance
  • Preparing quotes and proposals, following up and negotiating terms, and closing transactions
  • Organizing and conducting training sessions for customers, surveying market and competitive conditions
  • Completing reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads, and other related reports
  • Monitoring customer complaints, following up on outstanding orders, and making emergency calls and deliveries as required

Requirements for the role include:

  • 5+ years of proven sales experience
  • Fluid power components, systems, and/or applications knowledge is preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel
  • Ability to open new business, develop relationships
  • Mechanical aptitude, self-starter with a strong desire to succeed, and sense of humor
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including English grammar
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record (MVR)
  • Fluid Power certification is a plus
