Paralegal Opportunity at Peckar & Abramson

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our team at Peckar & Abramson. As a Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our litigation attorneys in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on laws, regulations, and case precedents to assist attorneys with legal documents.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and briefs for court filings.
  • Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and deadlines are met.
  • Interact with clients to gather information, provide updates, and facilitate communication between clients and attorneys.
  • Provide discovery assistance by preparing requests for documents and reviewing documents in electronically stored information databases.
  • Filing documents with courts, including electronic filing systems, and tracking court deadlines.
  • Perform general administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
  • Assist attorneys in preparation for depositions, hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Organize, manage, and maintain case files.
Requirements:
  • 5-7+ years of relevant job experience as a paralegal in a law firm.
  • College degree.
  • Attention to detail and organized.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience timekeeping for billing purposes.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Paralegal certification/training.
  • Experience with Federal and/or DC, MD, and VA procedures and e-filing systems.
