Senior Contract Development and Assessment Manager

Job Summary
Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced Associate Director to support contracting initiatives, rebates, and financial analytics across the company portfolio of products.
This role will provide support on all new agreements, language negotiations, and contract renewals, serving as the contract subject matter expert.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of managed care, Medicare Part B, Medicaid GPO, PBM, Wholesaler, Specialty Pharmacies, and other Payer segments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support contracting initiatives, rebates, and financial analytics across the company portfolio of products.
- Provide support on all new agreements, language negotiations, and contract renewals.
- Serve as the contract subject matter expert.
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including drafting, modification, execution, amendments, and renewal of Health Plan Value Based Agreement (VBA) contracts, IDN/GPO contracts, Direct Purchase Agreements, Wholesaler Agreements, and Government contracts.
- Understand contracting strategies and maintain current knowledge supporting data structures, business processes, and documentation for assigned accounts.
- Negotiate various types of agreements in collaboration with National Account Leads, Field Reimbursement Directors, Strategic Account Leads, and Trade.
- Ensure timely review, approval, implementation, and follow-through of assigned contract proposals.
- Establish cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Pricing and Strategy, Government Pricing, and Finance, to ensure agreements are operational, functional, and interpreted accurately for timely implementation and compliance with contractual obligations.
- Act as liaison between Alnylam Market Access and third-party data aggregator and contract management system by applying expert knowledge of existing processes, contract terms interpretation, dashboard metrics, and process improvements.
- Develop external and internal working partnerships with collaboration across Brands, Market Access, Finance, Contracting Operations, Legal, Procurement, and other functional teams in support of contracting process and offer development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 3 years in pharmaceutical contracting, rebates, or finance.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate data into strategy.
- Understanding of key Payer and customer segments relevant to brand products and the US Reimbursement System across major Payer segments (Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Federal).
- Able to identify, develop, and recommend process improvements, drive for efficiency, innovation, and differentiation.
- Competent with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
