Key Responsibilities:
As a member of our team, you will utilize your healthcare and customer service skills to assist throughout the blood collection process. This includes:
- Engaging personally with donors, listening to their stories, and helping them understand the significance of their contributions.
- Collaborating with colleagues to foster a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, ensuring our volunteer donors feel comfortable returning.
- Maintaining attention to detail consistently to ensure that the blood collected meets all goals and regulatory standards for safe transfusion.
- Assisting with the transportation and setup of equipment at donation sites, which may involve driving Red Cross vehicles. A minimum height requirement may apply for safe vehicle operation.
_Work Schedule:_
- To effectively serve our donors and community, staff may work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some positions may require overnight travel.
- Schedules are provided two to three weeks in advance.
_Compensation:_
- Starting pay rate is $16.48 per hour.
- Sign-On Bonus: $1,500.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Customer service experience and strong verbal communication skills are essential.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary.
- Physical requirements may include the ability to lift and maneuver heavy items, good manual dexterity, and the capacity to adapt to long hours and frequent schedule changes. A minimum height requirement may apply for safe vehicle operation.
- Staff will work as a team to set up and dismantle equipment for mobile blood drives at various locations.
- Basic computer skills are required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare or phlebotomy (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.) is advantageous.
- Leadership experience is a plus.
