Job Summary:
The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales and marketing efforts to increase profitable sales through building and maintaining high-quality relationships with new and existing customers. The ideal candidate will utilize company digital tools and products to connect with consumers, develop creative solutions, generate sales volume, and provide exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Responsible for selling, marketing, promoting, and demonstrating products to effectively communicate their features and benefits.
- Increase business by generating sales to new customers and selling additional products to existing customers.
- Collaborate with leadership, team members, and suppliers to plan, track, and implement sales strategies and develop new markets.
- Assist customers with product selection and application, utilizing knowledge, internal specialists, and supplier representatives.
- Establish and maintain customer relationships, learning and evaluating customer operations to present a unique solution tailored to their business objectives and needs.
- Collaborate with customers and team members for product quotations and provide ongoing communication throughout the customer's purchasing lifecycle.
- Work with management, credit, and customers to resolve payment issues promptly.
- Gather and report to management information regarding the company, competitors, pricing, products, and current and future market.
- Actively participate in professional development to improve professional selling skills and maintain technical capabilities.
- Maintain accurate and timely records, including sales call schedules and expense reports.
- Coordinate sales calls with vendors to introduce and demonstrate products, identify customer needs, and promote product and service solutions.
- Utilize and champion digital tools, customer solutions, and services to gain a competitive advantage.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License.
- 3+ years of sales or electrical industry experience.
- Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers and be sensitive to their needs.
- Customer-oriented and motivated with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to drive decisions with influence.
- Product and application knowledge essential.
- Highly self-motivated.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and relevant ERP systems and Customer Relation Management Tools (CRM).
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
