Role Summary:The Assistant Site Manager plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily activities, fostering community engagement, and promoting independent living skills within group homes or apartments. This position also assists the Site Manager in overseeing the residence and supervising staff, stepping into the Site Manager's role when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate the development of independent living skills in areas such as nutrition, hygiene, financial management, and social interactions.
- Provide personal care assistance, including hygiene and medical support.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
- Administer and document medication as required.
- Transport residents to various appointments and activities.
- Encourage community integration for residents.
- Exhibit empathy and respect towards all residents.
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training sessions.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of residents.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation.
- Drive agency vehicles for community activities and medical appointments as needed.
- Assist in supervising residential staff, including training, delegating tasks, monitoring performance, and providing input on evaluations.
- Support the Site Manager in residence management tasks, including maintaining logs, planning social and recreational activities, budgeting, and ensuring regular house meetings.
- Contribute to the development of residential goals in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team through the Individualized Housing Plan (IHP) and Individualized Support Plan (ISP).
- Monitor and document residents' progress towards IHP/ISP goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing.
- Must complete and maintain agency-provided training programs.
- Ensure safety and well-being of residents.
- Physical capability to assist residents with mobility and personal care needs.
- Exhibit good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and think critically.
- Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs as needed.
