Job Summary
The Biomedical Equipment Specialist at Facility Maine Medical Center performs technical work diagnosing, repairing, testing, calibrating, modifying, specifying, installing, and maintaining a variety of diagnostic, therapeutic, and analytic biomedical equipment and related workstations/computers, networks, and systems, as well as electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
They confer with various hospital staff to clarify the nature of equipment and system problems and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex biomedical equipment and systems
- Test and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Modify and specify equipment to meet specific needs
- Install and maintain equipment and systems
- Collaborate with hospital staff to resolve equipment and system issues
Requirements
- Education: Associate Degree in Biomedical Electronics Technology or equivalent
- License/Certifications: Valid State of Maine driver's license
- Experience: Five or more years of directly related experience
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with technical staff and user departments
- Knowledge: Techniques of troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, specifying, and installing diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and systems
Working Conditions
- Ability to work independently and serve on-call for off-hours service
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for approximately eighty percent of work time
